Video: Recently acquired Vermette scores shootout winner for Blackhawks

Playing in his second game for his new team, the Chicago Blackhawks, Antoine Vermette scored the winning goal in the shootout Friday.

The Blackhawks, down 1-0 through two periods, got a late third-period goal from Brent Seabrook and Vermette scored the lone goal in the skills competition in a 2-1 shootout win for Chicago.

The Blackhawks acquired Vermette from the Arizona Coyotes just prior to the trade deadline.

Corey Crawford made 46 saves, and Edmonton was unsuccessful in all three of its shootout attempts, for the win.

The Blackhawks are now six points back of the Nashville Predators, losers of five straight, for the Central Division.
