Insert Your Google Analytics Code Through Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a glorious invention! I use it constantly and it often solves a lot of the headaches that many digital advertisers face. One of the best features is that it consolidates all those Google codes in one place and allows you to change these easily without constantly editing your website coding.

Here’s just a simple tutorial on how to insert your Google Analytics Code through Google Tag Manager

1. Sign into Google Tag Manager (google.com/tagmanager)

2. Select your account

3. Select your container

4. Click on “new” & select “tag”

5. Name your tag – I usually call it Google Analytics Code UA-XXXXX-X (whatever the UA number is)

6. Select the tag type by selecting “Google Analytics” and then “Universal Analytics” (you can choose classic if this applies to you but in most scenarios, Universal is best)

7. Select “enable display advertising features”
